It’s a funny old time to be a WAR blogger

We know there’s stuff coming, big stuff by the sounds of it and from those various sounds we’ve got a rough picture of it all too. New progression, a totally revamped and revitalised campaign, loads of other bits and bobs and of course, Skaven. The difficulty for a blogger right now is while we have a rough picture and one that would normally be good for some speculation, it is pretty rough and we also know that more and more solid information will be appearing over the next few weeks/months. As such it’s just so easy to spend time and effort writing a big theory post only to see it rubbished within a short timer by Mythic revealing more of WAR’s future reality upon us.

So it’s both an exciting and frustrating time for me, I’m really looking forward to learning more and I feel quite confident about WAR’s future, but I find myself at a bit of a loss on what to post. The potential for awesomeness should we get an increase in the number of open zones from the DAoC/City siege inspired new campaign, the HUGE potential of mobile siege weapons (sieges towers please!) or trying to puzzle out Mythic’s somehow playable Skaven.

Hmmmmmmm, hmmmmmmm and thrice hmmmmmmm

In other news... Gary has no pants.

That's a whole lot of WTF right there.

  1. Mythic did a phenominal job of castrating the excitement everyone had about a month ago.

  2. Blogging is tough. The last blogger Waaagh on the Warhammer Herald, or whatever it is called that highlights Warhammer Blogs is pretty sad. I clicked all the links, and out of around 15 blogs, only 1 was still semi-active. Most stopped blogging almost immediately after it.

I don't really see many blogs sticking around long these days. The only ones are just a few that have been around mostly from day one.

I think times are slow right now. Bloggers are in a slump. No real new mmorpgs to talk about, and they are barely hanging on to the ones they are playing. It is hard to keep writing every day when your blog is just about one game, and nothing really happens to give you anything to write about.

That is why I switched to general gaming over a year ago. It gives me something to always talk about, and not have to worry about rehashing something for the millionth time.

  3. Aye been been trying to think of something to throw up for a while but seem to be drawing blanks atm. Figured it's been better to wait rather then just throw up random thoughts for the mo!
I'm now also extremely curious about No Pants Man :-)

  4. I wholeheartedly disagree. I'd be posting everyday if it weren't for the fact that I can't do fast posts, it always takes me an hour or two so I'd have to be writing pretty much non-stop. :P

There's still plenty of stuff needed to blog about, get on with it you lazy gits! xD

  6. The reduction in blogging some are talking about always happens this time of year. It's the summer lull. Whether or not people return after their (hopefully) enjoyable summer off is up to them. However, there have always been new people starting up blogs to replace those that fall by the wayside.

Personally, I haven't been able to get as much done while training and traveling as I would have if I were home. Once I'm back, I should be able to wrap up at least 3 projects I've been working on for quite a long time now. :p
